What is the state of play in the uk these days ?
Reason for asking is that a guy has popped up on a nz based forum looking for info and has put a few pics up of his exploits at home. I thought that using dogs on foxes was a big no-no these days. I am not trying to stir things up, just genuinely curious.
terriers.webp

Legal for protection of game birds, but you are supposed to have a dog that bays,(not to hard),

That was my first reaction on seeing his pics as well Taff.
One thing to do stuff, quite another to advertise it.

So is this guy pushing his luck legally or what ?
He is asking for help to hunt in NZ, but if his ethics are questionable, I for one wont be offering any assistance.

Looks like he's one of those "if it moves kill it" sort. He'll come unstuck eventually ................. then probably whinge like a pig

Stirctly speaking don't think he has broke any laws in wot he has done. Definately not in Scotland and even in eng, less than 2 dogs hunting it etc. From the way i read it his dog pegged it above ground. Is it really any different to a HPR pegging a fox on a shoot day. Ur still allowed to use dogs underground too
Looks worse wi it being white, if it was a darker colour probably wouldnae look as bad

Still not a good idea to put photos up, doesnae look good.
The thing to watch now is ending up on welfare offences if a terrier gets splattered so hard dogs will bring u problems

And the munty??

Don't think he coursed it with his JR, there was a gun on the front rack of the quad? But i wasnae there so have no idea wot happened.

I thought the OP was asking about the laws relating to foxes and dogs?

Judging by the shotgun laying next to the munty and his comment of "I won't tell you what I shot it with" followed by a load of smiley faces kind of gives it away a bit. At best he can't control his dogs off a lead and at worst he is actively looking for animals to set them on.

+1
Although it doesn't prove anything, that's certainly what I inferred from that post!
do you think he's a member here?

You can use two controllable dogs to flush a fox to guns. Under the gamekeepers exemption where pheasants are being reared, 1 terrier may be used underground to flush a fox to a gun.

I think it comes under the hunting act and maybe also the wild mammal bill.
