Dogs red belly from being out.

Out last night walking around not pushing thru nettles but longish meadow grass, got up this morning and saw him itching like mad.
He has flared up a few times this season but not as bad as this.
Trip to the Vets booked later in the week but wondering if anyone has had a dog with grass allergies or seen similar and how did you treat it?
Bathed him in dog shampoo and he seems settled now but still concerning.

It was my mother-in-law’s dog. He was very over weight and his belly and inside legs were red raw.
He used to get the cheapest of dog meal with a lot of processed meats mixed in. Cheap sliced ham and beef with high salt content. When my MIL passed, all that rubbish stopped, his weight dropped and the skin cleared up an awful lot, but not 100%.
The dog is with my sister-in-law now. She feeds him a better quality complete meal mixed with wet dog meat.
Personally, I think removing all the salt has made the biggest difference.

Looks like a contact allergy, will probably settle if he leaves it alone. The shampoo is a good plan.HArvest mites tend to be localised, but they are little b***** so could to anythigng

Hibe scrub diluted then give it a good wash in this, dry off and apply germoline to soothe it.
Pirition will help aswell.
That's what I do to sort my vizsla bitch out
