One of our jagdhorn players is 58 years old and has been undergoing hard cancer treatment for the last two years with full hair loss, the whole 9 yards. He lives a few houses away from the pub where we practice and in the last three weeks twice he has popped in around 22:30 with a boar on the tow hitch rack. He had a biopsy done late last week and on Sunday he gets called in for an op this week but this Tuesday evening there he is again with a 30kg boar on the rack. zäh wie Leder und hart wie Kruppstahl is an old saying for the Wehrmacht soldier and he fits that description well. I think it is his way to cope.
