Don't worry darling, size isn't everything...

Not as daft as it sounds.

The Derringer has an 'effective' range of (up to) 8m.

Most 'close protection' incidents are 4-7m.

Could never understand why we had to classify at distances up to 25m? Unless of course you are running away?🤗
If it popped out of your sleeve like in the film Taxi Driver with De Niro?

Now this is a derringer!

I prefer the modern version.

4 x .357 Magnums.

Must have been as painful to fire as to be hit by.

I shot a little .25 acp semi auto Baby Browning in the US, little or no recoil and I was surprised by the hit on the sand at 25m. For something so tiny (known as the Mouse Gun) it would really sting!

Slightly larger but I used to have a Walther TPH (when we were allowed to have pistols for target shooting,

Lovely gun - like someone chucked a PPK in the washing machine and it came out shrunk.1679398785762.png
That was back when I was majoring in Walthers. The .22LR TPH, a PPK in .380, a PP Sport in 22LR (with mod), a brace of PP Supers in 9x18, a P5 Compact. Ah, nostalgia!

I still regret not buying a P38K snubbie.

Never saw one with a flash eliminator on though (a la Napoleon Solo's gun from the Man from Uncle).

Walking into a Police station and having to hand over what meant a lot to me was just a pill I could not swallow.
Indeed. I cannot imagine such a travesty. I well remember speaking to an RFD quite a few years ago in the North East who had to hand in over a dozen of his pistols - the night before he put a half-inch drill down each one. Good man!
Fortunately we still have a very healthy and growing pistol club community. Long may it be so.

The COP 357 . I fired one that belonged to a late friend many moons ago . It was surprisingly heavy , and so was the trigger . It wasn't that bad recoil wise , but it would definitely do the job up close .

I had a number of Walthers over the years myself , I still have a war time issue PPK in 32 ACP , still my favourite pocket auto . Like you , I always wanted a P38 Kurz but never got the opportunity to buy one , I regret that one too .
