Can anyone help.
I recently spoke with the BDS/DMQ people reference my original dsc1 ticket from 2000 that meant I did not at the time take my large game handling part. Having never needing to put deer into the food chain other than for our consumption it’s never bothered me to get it. I now have a need to sometimes put a carcass of two into a game dealer.
Now because my dsc ticket is so old I do not get the granfather rights to the game handling cert. My fault I missed the cut off date.
Bds told me to either do the stand alone course for game meat hygiene or do the dsc level 2 both would give me what I required……the handling cert.
I’ve now gone to register for the dsc2 as per their advice and find I can’t do it due to no game hygiene course.
I have looked at doing the game handling course but thought I’d do the dsc2 method Incase the need ever arose that I might need it.
I’ve spoken to the bds about jumping on the back of a dsc1 course for the hygiene element but they won’t offer it unless I’m on the dsc1 course.
Is there any other option other than the recognised lantra hygiene course.
