DSC1 Shooting Assesment - Recommendation

jh1986

Hi did not think it was Glyn ingram who took you for your test.
He was my instructor on Humane dispatch course at Petersfield with BDS a great guy and a good instructor.
At least you know you have got your DSC1 now completed. 👍

Yep, great guy. Just waiting on my actual cert to come through now

I had a 'friend', who had to re-classify every three months on the range, for work.

On one detail, he only got off nine of the ten shots required.

As he went 'forward to check', and was counting his holes with his pen...six, seven, eight, nine and...🖊️⚡

Perfect score.😇

You have all heard the saying, "The pen is mightier than the sword".

Well on that day, it was mightier than the Glock...
Ah yes. The 9mm biro. Never needed it myself, and never saw the letter R on my card either ….

I think it's more of a safety rule rather than anything to do with the shooting pass/fail aspect.

Any numpty could cock up a reload and cause an issue that has to be dealt with

Rules don't specify, although I think it does mention that it should be factory rounds
Rules say:

"

8. Ammunition

Only deer legal ammunition will be permitted. Handloaded ammunition is allowed at the Assessor/Range Conducting Officers discretion and as long as it meets all normal requirements. Hand loads must be presented for examination before use and any problems identified at this stage, or during shooting, will result in permission to use being withdrawn immediately."

But probably they are just not enforcing it. I bought very expensive ammo that I will probably only use for this test (.223 SP) 😅
