Looking to purchase a set of electronic ear defenders for shotgun , £150 ish and peltor sport tac seem to fit the bill or is there better for the budget ? I saw a 10% discount for best4systems but cant find it ! Thanks Alun

I have the Peltor and they are good. Great battery life and very comfortable. When I first got them they appeared to be a little quiet so when I was trying to talk to my mates when clay pigeon shooting , things appeared to be a bit muffled. However now they are spot on , three months later and not the rediculous price that Swatcom want to charge.

Howard Leight are good value and cheaper than Peltor - you can get rechargeable ones - Walkers. I have had all three and not much between them.

Peltor SportTac are my standard ear-defenders for shotgun use.

Here comes the cat amongst the pigeons.. 👀

Personally, for shotgun, I think these do the trick at a fraction of the cost

I was dubious about them after seeing the price difference between those and the 3M etc but they’re the “cheap and cheerful” sets we use at our rifle club. Plenty of members who forget their swatcom/sordin defenders don’t have a problem using these as a backup.

I keep a pair of these in the car on the off chance that myself or someone I’m shooting with forgets theirs.

You can still buy them through GMK.

Except they’ll be counterfeit and use cheaper components that may not be giving you the protection you think you’re getting…no need to ask me how I know having succumbed a couple of years ago. 😡

I replaced them with a set of the Isotunes Sport (Basic… or something like that) with a set of the gel pads. Excellent and on a par with my in ear Peltor EEP100’s

Excellent customer service from Isotunes too, and they do good rating in ears as well.

Cheers

I have sordin and peltor, both are equally as good, sordin possibly a tiny bit more comfortable as they have the gel pads on them.
The peltor is alot easier to change the batteries though, as the sordin i need a small screwdriver or similar, to get the bottom battery out. If they ran out in the field, this may be a problem.
