Easy to attach and remove bipods

Hello,

Looking for advice on bipods or bipod adapters that are quick and easy to attach with a budget of around £150.

95 percent of my night shooting is done from quad sticks, i find i get a much more stable shooting position with the bipod off. Would like the ability to be able to quickly attach a bipod for the odd times that shooting prone would be an option.

Any sugestions would be greatly apreciated.

A Harris is fitted in no time. Very easy to take on and off.

I have on my BSA Scorpion SE a knock off of a Harris made by Caldwell. It has a L shaped rod that passes through the hole of a sling swivel stud. You then turn a wheel to tighten the thing in place which it does by drawing the L shaped rod downwards.



For real speed you'd be better to fit a second sling swivel stud just for the bipod so that you don't have to keep removing your sling as eve with the swing type side clip mounts it takes time. For my use I actually prefer the Caldwell to the Harris that I also had.

Ive fitted one of these to all my rifles

Then you simply get QR picatinny bipod. I bought a 2nd hand Atlas off here within your budget.

I just use Harris, it just works in the field ! Long or short they all can be attached .

Posted repeatedly on here me about my Spartan “ecosystem” - it’s not just a bipod but a gateway to using the adapters on on all rifles with my Blaser sticks, off the bonnet via a suction mount (that there no need to vacuum down), off a tripod with a Davis head and off my quad rest where it provides a shooting rest as well as a carriage device.

Spartan is what you have described there sir.

You'd get a second hand one within your budget.

Wouldn't be without mine for all the night shooting or stalking I do... I can't abide the clunky old Harris digging in my shoulder and catching on brush etc

People rave about Spartans for exactly the use you describe - you can have the bipod in a pocket and click it on for the occasional times you need it. I would just say they are magnetic and can click off as easily as they click on so are not as study as a Harris when panning deer in woody heather. Ideal for arable or grassland or zeroing. Or alternatively make 95% 100% - quad sticks and fifth leg is just as stable as prone. Repetition and familiarly breed accuracy.

I’ve been using a Spartan bipod for a number of years on my rifles. I’ve fitted the gunsmith adapter to the rifles. I find it much better than the standard fitting which kept on twisting loose.
