Edgar Bros. 8x56 scope- knock about scope.
Please read below carefully!
Came on a rifle I bought second hand last year.
Scope is useable, I shot a few foxes with it out to 150 yards and the sight picture was good when viewed at a normal angle with appropriate eye relief.
If the scope is however turned/ angled- it’s apparent that either the coating on the lenses is coming off on the inside- or there are some scratch marks- very hard to see through a photo on a camera, but hopefully you get the idea. It’s really odd as the glass on the outside of both lenses is good- no marks or scratches. I’ve put it in the fridge for 24hrs to see if it may have been a water mark from condensation getting in, but it held up fine- no moisture on the inside of the scope.
Illuminated 30 /30 reticule which works fine.
I have taken a photo of the top of tree at 90 yards to try and show the usable sight picture. Not the clearest sight picture in the world given the above, but perfectly usable on a knock about rifle.
The rest of the scope is in quite good condition.
Given the flaw pointed out as above- £25 plus post- sold as seen- I’ve been as brutally honest as I can. Hopefully will serve someone well as a bit of a rough gun/ knock about working rifle scope. Seems a shame for it to sit unused and I’m unlikely to use in the future.
Will come well wrapped in a box, but no covers or original papers etc.
Thanks.
