Bit of a long shot this I know, also know that no two cases will be the same, but one of the spaniels has just been diagnosed with the above. Vet says it is quite rare, which in itself is pretty funny as he's always been a bit 'special' & now for him to get something different just about sums him up!
Has anyone experienced this first hand & if so what treatment(s) were used & what was the prognosis?
We've been offered the option of chemo but not keen on this route as it's every 3 weeks, high probability of liver damage, blood tests before & after each dose to check liver condition. Really don't want to subject him to chemo as it won't be fair on the old fella.
Got to say I'm pretty cut up about & hence why I'm not going pricket bashing this weekend - just not in the mood! Mrs DB is distraught too as it's 'her' dog that's got it
He's had a good life, used to work 4-6 days a week when he was younger but has been retired since our little syndicate packed up a few years back. Getting on for 13 years old & has his own bed next to Mrs DB's side of the bed - or sleeps on the bed if he prefers
Not looking for sympathy, just any suggestions about how to make the old fella's life a bit more bearable in the short term please.
TIA.
