My variation has been in with them for weeks and weeks too. I called and was told they had a 4+ week backlog. I've emailed twice since then with questions and had nothing but the automated response. I haven't even had a call to arrange the standard visit (with standard answer: "you're not allowed <whatever I've asked for>" Yes I can, I have a need for it and place to use it. "Well, yeah, I suppose so...you have to <insert unreasonable request>" No I don't, that's not a legal requirement. "OK, well I'll let you have it." Gee, thanks! )

Update:
I spoke to my new FLO yesterday who seems to be an extremely knowledgeable and helpful chap! He apologised for how long I'd been waiting and got everything sorted out for me. Maybe things are looking up in Essex???

You don't know how lucky you are until you loose it. I used to be with Essex. Area guy was Gareth Mitchell and running the depth was Mike Fidgin. I used to possible and whine about all the usual and then I moved up to Scotland.

Well after a call to an old girl who i know that has some push up there guess what !! my cert was done and will be out as i requested with all the changes as needed in the monday post funny that !!!

Yes it is still at headquarters, but is now in a restricted access part of the building, so no visits.

Update : I had my FEO come around on Tuesday and all was hunky dory, just called the firearms department itself and have just been told another 4 or 5 weeks to get the certificate !

So the office received my variation on 17th February.....

I'v got my cert but its wrong most of my to hold ammo has been removed , the way it is now if i load the exp and the exp miss ' i will be over the amount of LOADED ammo i can hold let along fmj ? , i said i reload a 6mm but that has been removed so now i have had to place all the 6mm with a dealer, and the 700 x308 fmj target ammo has also had to be handed over i am glad i got my cert but now its got to go back so i can get what i had back on it .
