Everhot Cooker

Does anyone have one of these? If so, how do you like it? We got one about 8 years ago and I'm still finding it frustrating to work with, I've seen a thread here saying it was invented for surplus power from solar/water turbine, which may explain my frustration. With a 13A supply, it can give the same power to heat up quickly, not to the induction rings. I've always felt other folk's induction work better than ours, this perhaps explains it.

i have had one of these for about 10 years now. They only did a solo induction ring i think when i got mine so did not bother just got the 90 with a second hot plate.. i then later bought the induction part separately and fitted it into the worktop. They are also made 2 miles down the road from me.
i do have PV but in the winter it is mainly powered by the mains.

what is the issue? other induction hobs may be fatser but that is possibly down to the power draw/strength of the ring. obviously choosing a system that is fed via a 13 amp plug/ standard socket ring main must have limitations/balances compared to a system with a dedicated higher power supply.

The issue for me is that I think it is a very poor cooker! It's poor at maintaining temperature, and because it has an element below 5mm of steel, the bottoms of cakes, break, roasties etc burn. The three ring hob is slow, and if you use one big pan, you can't use any others. The induction is 3KW I have found, most are 7.2. All they need do is put a proper supply in!

it is one of their selling points is that you do not need a cooker ring main putting in….. would be an expensive pain in the arse for me to have done.
In regards to the bottom burning you should not be resting anything on the bottom of the oven. It should always be on a shelf even if that shelf is at the lowest it can go.

I expect that they use pulse width modulation to 'share' power between the rings when more than one is on. This does allow for a smaller supply current but it's a compromise and is no substitute for the 'grunt' of proper cooker supply.

Thanks, Understanding some of the reasons helps. I still wish I'd gone with separate ovens as my original plan, it's been an expensive mistake.
