'Evri' . . . . still pathetic service

I've found the delivery side to be OK. But they lost a package I sent out in January, £60 of fishing bits. They admitted it was lost fairly quickly and suggested I claim, but then I hit a brick wall. No claim forms available, couldn't raise another incident on the same item. All the customer service responses were geared at frustrating and obviously hoping I'd go away. Eventually I raised a Small Claims to force them to address it. I got my £60 back, but not the £35 cost of the claim. I could have persevered, but life is too short.

Hermes/Evri now on my banned list.

Had exactly this problem the other day with DPD, delivery attempted when he had been nowhere near, luckily with DPD they have customer service phone numbers and after a polite but forceful rant i got no where.

Called back and tried a different approach of wanting to speak to the depot manager to make a complaint about a driver, finally got through to him and stated the driver had lied, been nowhere near and i wished to complain, five mins later after speaking to the driver he calls back and says the driver is turning around and will be there shortly, after another 20 mins a rather unhappy looking driver turns up with our parcel looking very sheepish and apologetic

Never had that success with Hermes though as they only have automated online chat and that is next to useless, now if people state they ship with Hermes before i buy , they loose my custom and i buy elsewhere

I intend doing the same now. My wife was a member of the Craft Gin Club for a few years until they changed their delivery service to Herpes. Almost immediately parcels arrived damaged (if they arrived at all) My wife cancelled her membership citing this as the cause. Turned out they'd lost so much business as a result of changing couriers that Herpes was henceforth sacked and they reverted to thais previous service

We never use Hermes. And if our suppliers do, we ask them to deliver to us via a different courier. The suppliers usually do as requested when we explain that we wouldn’t want children, pets or criminals getting into the packages and it will be their liability. We once had an email from Hermes with a photo attached showing the proof of attempted delivery. The photo was of a very large field of crops (I kid you not!). Most courier companies are now pretty unreliable. It is a race to the bottom.

I dont have a problem with my herpes, we have an awesome regular delivery driver!
We used to have a brilliant scouse Hermes driver, she always signed the parcel “Hugs Beverly XXX” always cheerful. On her last delivery she said she had been given the sack because somebody complained she had her child with her in the car and had let him run up the garden path with a parcel….on an election Thursday when the school was being used for a Polling Station. Miserable.
