What other activity involves sitting around, mainly motionless, for hours and often in the cold months or into the early night? But with the chance, at a moment's notice, of having to be mobile and active?

CARP FISHING!

So if I were seeking out a garment for a high seat I'd look on a carp fishing forum or seek an internet review of an angler's "all-in-one" or "bib n'brace".

I use my trout boat fishing "bib n'brace" by a company called Vision for pigeon hide sitting. It is green, warm, waterproof and you don't sweat inside. But maybe not quite "man" enough for really severe cold weather sitting though! OK for autumn weather or winter day time but maybe not if frosty.

What about these, pretty cheap http://www.askari-hunting.co.uk/__W...-4/il-lago-teddy-fleece-hide-pants/detail.jsf

This website has loads of stuff I want. I've got one of these and it's every bit as good as my MOra Clipper (all be it the handle isn't quite as nice) but for £2.50 I could have 4 of them for one MOra http://www.askari-hunting.co.uk/__W...ives-specials/fishing-knife-quebec/detail.jsf
Just registered some very reasonable equipment on here thanks for the heads up .

I've got one of the old german sleeping bags with sleeves. Was originally waterproof too. Not very warm though, tbh.
Now got a pair of cheap fleecy longjohns from the factory shop. Wear under a pair of deerhunter padded trousers and warm as toast.

I just sat for 4 hours this morning at 0-2 degrees Celsius.... not windy but breezy and trying to rain.... with nothing to block wind except a camouflage net... did the same thing 4 weeks ago bundled up like an Eskimo and froze my ass off..... Today, I had a pair of wool army socks that come to the knee, thin pair of longjohns (mainly to keep the socks up) a pair of carhartt duck jeans, an army field jacket (with a safety orange vest) and thin hat.... But had a pair of the goober looking felt lined boots and sat on a piece of styrofoam. Had to open the jacket a little and take off the hat to cool off a couple times.
I think the money makers was the boots, socks, and styrofoam seat.....
