I had a medical procedure done on my right eye (dominant eye) and is a bit blurry at the moment, but the doctor said it will clear up, but it might take some time.
Did anyone successfully learned to shoot left handed ? (or right handed if you are left handed)
How difficult can be? I wouldn't want to miss the roe rut!

I'm sure it won't be that difficult if the stock is given of ambidexrrous ergonomics. Only way to find out is have a go at the target.

Ps: If your existing stock has a rollover type cheek peice you could part overcome the discomfort by use of pipe lagging and gaffer tape. Cant help you with bolt lift!

I am a lefty that shoot rifles and shotguns right handed. I can flip to my left on the rifle with relative ease but I can’t for the shotgun.
It's not a natural thing tho and I maybe have to do it once every couple of seasons (and I don’t practice it!!)
Maybe try keeping both eyes open if you are right eye dominant (as I am) and you might find it less awkward

Don't know if keeping both eyes open will help, as i can't see much with the right eye anyway, but i will give it a go !

I would put resting your eye before the Roe rut! Lots of Roe only 2 eyes...

For some of us that swapping “ hands” would be a monumental challenge, I can barely pick my nose left handed, and throw a ball left handed as if I was about to do a gender transition

I can speak from experience after eye surgery allow the maximum amount of time to heal, any lifting can cause internal pressures to rise considerably and cause problems further down the line . The roe will rutt again next year.

I don't have or want Roe (they are put up far too high on the must shoot ladder lol) thank you, as per your post they are not worth risking a life changing event.

Others have said it but I’ll say it too - don’t bother with the roe, it’s not worth damaging your eye by going shooting. They’ll still be there long after your eye has recovered fully.

That said, if you ignore the sage words offered then it’s possible to shoot off the ‘weak’ shoulder, you just need to do a bit of training so it feels less awkward. Have done it many times when needing to shoot around some cover without exposing myself (oh matron) & also once in a team competition when I was allowed to shoot on a second team but only if I shot left handed

When in a high seat I'll happily shoot off either shoulder, just depends where I can get the best support, I'm left handed

After eye surgery i lost eye dominance, went from complete right to even split, rifle fine, shot gun instant double vision with both eyes open, close the left and i loose depth perception.
If i were you i would wait and see what the doe season brings, or take out a newbie

After an eye op the advice to me was NO lifting avoid bending over to pick up things, changed the dog shovel to a poo litter picker for a week until I broke it lol. Stuck with the recommend 2 weeks, Dad lost his sight in his right eye later in life and had a cataract in the other so I know first hand watching him struggle some days.
