Fake Vortex scopes

I’m looking for a scope for a new PRL22 rifle but the rifle has taken the majority of my budget so now I’m looking at pre owned scopes. I’ve seen that the Chinese discount websites are selling what I assume to be fake Vortex scopes. Has anyone any experience with them and can help me spot a fake that some unscrupulous vendor could be trying to pass off as genuine? I’ve trawled YouTube but the only video I can find is in Chinese and very probably promoting a fake product.
In particular it’s the Strike Eagle 5-25 I’m looking at.

Why anyone would bother with a fake anything scope, Vortex or whatever, is beyond me. If budget allows, less than a couple of hundred quid (or maybe half of that) would buy you a used Leupold with lifetime warranty.

I think the point was a question in how to avoid fakes, simple answer buy from reputable suppliers, ie not ones in China for something you can easily get over here!!
(There are tonnes of hookey secondhand leupold scopes out there too fwiw…)

Fair dos. I should have read the post more carefully.
Leupold fakes are pretty easy to spot, mind. They just ooze cheap.

Not so easy, colour of red on box is the biggest give away, and numbers on the wrong size, surprisingly the glass is pretty good.
