Evening All.
On my way this morning to our pheasant shoot towards Barnard Castle (north yorks)

For anyone that knows the A66 there were two fallow sat in a field right next to the Fox Hall Inn.
Had to do a massive double take, couldn’t quite see what one was but the other was a fully palmated buck!

First I’ve ever heard of Fallow in that neck of the woods, great to see them. Wondered if they might have been escapees from Raby or similar?

Plenty around Sutton bank area, not too far away but as you say Raby is most likely answer.
I go beating on a shoot not to far away from there and there was a Fallow buck with what looked like camo netting raped around his antlers. That was about two years ago so they are about.

Wow that's interesting I am just up the road in Bishop Auckland and we only see Roe Deer so hopefully they can make it a few more miles up the road!🤞

Love to see some munties up here but I wont hold my breath

This is interesting for me as I have only ever shot 3 Deer and that was nearly 25 years ago up on a Scottish estate called kilcohan I think it was called.

Fast forward to now and all I see round my way in the Darlington/ Bishop Auckland way between the A66 and the A68 is Roe deer, and I was told that all I would ever see is Roe, I'm by no way clued up on Deer nor know what Deer are where so this is interesting for me.

Surprised there is any Roe left in Co Durham the way @Nickb is going through them🤣
