what a shame ,i gave up 3.5 thousand acres of stalking last august up here in sunny oxford.got too old/weak to drag 60 plus fallow out every year plus the roe and muntjac. the job has only this month been filled by a pest controller !! he,s so proud of his thermal and night vision.< i have sent you a pm.>

Shame indeed, its so hard trying to get permissions. Doesn't help that there are some who have way more than they can 'manage' whilst many stalkers can't get a sniff.
I'm on the hunt for a permission myself, nothing huge but something that I can get to know and learn throughout the year.

I'm in a similiar boat with fallow having given up on a syndicate where the prices and shooting window constantly went up and reduced respectively. I'm fortunate to have good regular access to roe and muntjac but I would be interested in any regular opportunities on fallow in support of the leaseholder/owner - not looking to take over, I just enjoyed my fallow woodland stalking tremendously and would like to continue to scratch that itch. Based in South Glos but with ready access to the M4/M5 so able to assist in Glos, Wilts, Oxon and Somerset.

Looks to me like you were just making a point rather than asking for a perm or hijacking mate....no harm done.
It is very frustrating I agree. I have a very modest piece of ground to shoot on, and while there are deer there, it's a bugger to shoot because of backstop/safety issues. Lots of patience required. Has come up many times but I agree it seems 'unfair' that some have access to thousands of acres and do a crap job, while others have to search in vain but are more dedicated and would arguably put more into it. Just my 2p.

I will happen I know it will but if you don’t ask you don’t get .Hopefully someone a bit older will be thinking they’ve had enough of lugging the things out and will pass on some ground to a younger ,fitter dedicated deer killer .
