Sold: Fallow hooves for dog training

Kind offer.

From a scent perspective, are they in pairs, based on their respective ‘donors’ ?
For use with scent shoes, presumably?
That's something I hadn't thought of, to be honest.
When I was training my dog to follow a deer scent I just dragged a single hoof along on a bit of string.
Anyhow, as it happens I'd left them in piles pretty much as they came off the deer, so I have been able to pair some up to send out 👍

Is this how the phrase " hoofing around" started....

We had a van in a forest opp north a long time ago now.
I was the only guy to take two reds out of there. The other guys were furious!

It use to get muddy by the van so I kept the red deer hooves and every time I left I put loads of prints in the mud by the van door for the next guys to find on their visit.
They phoned us every time 🤣

Correct.

Apparently when using scent shoes it is important to always use pairs of legs/hooves, to avoid confusing the dog during scent training. Found this out when undertaking tracking course with my Teckel.

I can see that if using two hooves it's necessary to use a pair off the same deer. It just hadn't occurred to me that anyone would use two hooves to lay a scent trail when one is enough.

front left, rear right and vice versa. Use the scent shoes so the scent is spots as it were when lift feet and not a continuous line

If you only use one the dog will end up going around in circles....
