First attempt with the shotgun

Had a half day today and was feeling a bit groggy from catching my daughters cold. Decided I needed to get outside so managed to have a walk about on the farm just down the road to test Major with the shotgun for the first time. Had a few hares run that I left and then flushed up one pheasant ( no one puts them down for the last few years so they are savvy now) the one that went up went straight into the sun so I couldn't see it, still a good flush so he had a good boy. I let a shot off when he was about 50yds away and he didn't bat an eyelid other than looking at me as if to say well.....

Good walk about and really helped clear the sinuses

Was really needed, 1st time I've had the shotgun out in about a year

Well done mate I was the same yesterday I didn’t go to work but managed to get moose and roe out didn’t get a shot but saw a great spotted woodpecker so that was nice , nice gun by the way Baz

It’s very nice , I’ve got 2 yildiz in 4.10 and 28 bore I really rate them , both multi choke too , I’m afraid the snipe will be paying dearly this year, they did a few back I got a double with the 4.10 it wasn’t that I was clever just lucky lol Baz

Nice sunny day so did get out, few rooks about but no pigeons to be found, only had pigeon decoys with me so never fired a shot but still good to get out.
