First Fox...Know First Fallow....

After his first fox the other night we saw Muntjac feeding on the edge of the field, keen to get his first deer we met up at 8 with a brief about what where and how I expect him to do.

Light breeze in out face was the key, I looked up the headland for our quarry with the bins and he tapped me on the shoulder whispering " I think there are fallow out there"
So I whispered back, all Bucks so if they come down the slope and in range **** the Muntjac...lol
It took around 10 mins with a mozie attack every few seconds for them to get in range what I was happy with.

I used the time to let him watch them cross each other also pick the kill area... the choice was 2 out the 3 as the third was a bit of a lump!
More whispering...." I am shaking" good so am I lol....It is side on, ok I will stop it be ready. Oi....Whack from the .270.
I could here me saying RE LOAD.....
The Buck ran around 20 yards...

125 yards off the sticks and a very happy shooter ( but he forgot to smile in the pic)

Guessing 60 kg but when he comes over to help skin it then the big scales will come out.

Nice one Tim.

I know how much time you spend on the ground so you must be dead chuffed and proud to mentor and witness the lad starting on his journey.

Good effort and well done :thumb:

So he's hooked now then lol nice plan glad he did't have to start on the small ones
shot looks well placed aswell :tiphat:

Nice work guys. I think that you're a bit high on you weight guess though Tim. I'm guessing 38Kgs.

Thank you, my small scales went over the 100lb limit round to the 10lb mark with it not all off the ground, last one I shot that size which filled a 6' chiller was 66.5 kg dressed...so I will raise your 38 k by 22+ lol

Time was ticking so as I replied to the first person when it comes out for skinning then it will go on the big scales...
