First fox

Been out tonight as the farmer had seen a fox in the yard. Set up on a field next to the drive. Started calling for 20mins and nothing so just waited around and was about to leave as a fox turned up ranged it at 120 yards and bang fox down walked over and it was a dog fox. Off the mark with my new tikka t3x in 223.

I’ve got a T3X lite in .308 for deer and when I get some local foxing permission I won’t hesitate to get a T3X in .223 it’s an absolute incredible rifle and like @bullet chucker mentioned they come in left-handed versions which is a bonus for me. Well done on the first fox

77 years ago I shot my first fox with a .22, there's a Morrisons on top of it now!

Well done AntJ. Sometimes you have to be quick, and ranging it may loose you the shot. If you can see it at night, its in range, and you do not have to range it, just shoot it. A 223 ( zeroed at 100 yards) would be bang on out to say 160 yards, if you think its a tad further than that just go up an inch.
