First night out

So I got granted my FAC last week and I had already been shooting in my local gun club and had been testing out a few different 22lrs and after deliberating between the Tikka t1x and the cz457 I decided to go with the cz as it felt for me more comfortable and better quality rifle.( in my opinion)

So with my cz I got my hikmirco alpex and went to the field to zero my scope. Now I perhaps should have gone in better light as it was dusk and loosing the light fast but I felt I’d got it close enough…..
I’d set up a ply wood board with two targets and set about 50 yards away and setup on the back of my pickup and proceeded on.
So the next night I decided that that was the night I’m going to get my first bunnie,
Set up on the shooting stick and tried the first one at 25 yards and missed then tried another at 40 missed again. At this point I quickly realised it was not zero’d in enough and decided to call it a night.
Thought it was pretty pointless to carry on at this time didn’t want a stray round going anywhere.
So tonight I zero’d in 25 yards then at 50 and was bang on.
So off I went later on and downed my first bunnie. I know it’s not a deer or
Anything fancy but thought I’d share it either way
I was shooting blazer 22 long rifle 40 grain 1235fps
I think there a bit too loud for popping bunnies even with a mod onD4193C92-1B2D-4153-81B4-27D75BB5E842.jpeg

Well done mate. Love to hear about someone starting out. its a great part of a shooting journey and its a lovely time of the year to be doing it. i moved on too quick after i got my grant a decade or so ago. within my first year i had discarded my 22 and HMR and was on CF 223 and 308. in my shooting times, i look back at the days when i was starting out on rimfires, fondly. Enjoy the the moment. (and get yourself an IR torch)
