So after a while of thinking about dipping my toe into reloading I acquired some gear and set about learning as much as I could and finding load data from reputable sources for the 2 rounds I wanted to reload. 75gr Hornady Vmax in .243 and 120gr Sako powerhead blade in .270. I made up 5 batches of 3 in each calibre, each batch with 1 varying element from the last to see which works better and give me a starting point for the next ones. Fairly happy with the results on the range. Everything worked as it should, all went bang, nothing jammed, cases look good afterwards and the groupings at 100 yes were ok on the .243 (pic 2) and quite good on the .270 (pic 1). Once I've got a load I'm happy with and used up my factory ammo I'll zero the scope to my home loads. Looking forward to taking a fox and deer with home loads in the same way I get extra satisfaction from catching trout and salmon on self tied flies.
