Flying with some cleaning solutions

Hello,

Quick question, planning to take a flight and want to take some quality cleaning solutions in small non aerosol bottles. (sealed and new)

KG1 Carbon Remove
KG2 Bore Polish
Parker Hale Huile Express Gun Oil
Parker Hale Youngs 303

I also have a can of KG3 Solven Degreaser but it's the only one with a highly flammable warning so I will leave it.

I know it maybe a silly question but I was reading the British Airways guidelines and some small quantities of flammable liquids are allowed in checked in relation to certain
things just they mention nothing about gun cleaning solutions.

Thanks,
Tom

The airline will be just as worried about the contents of the containers leaking and attacking the airframe or generating noxious fumes as they will about the fire risk.
Personally I’d be wary about flying with anything volatile in my luggage.

I‘d say it depends on the size of the bottles. If they‘re just the small ones put them in your wash bag in the check-in luggage.

I wouldn’t fly with any Gun cleaning solutions unless they were i the gun case with a gun. It’s just going to raise questions which will just be irritating. Most security / airline staff / police at airports now have to follow procedures and no room for common sense.

To be honest unless you are competition shooting do you really need to deep clean on a trip.

Clean rifle well beforehand. Fire a couple of check shots and go on the hunt. Take a bore cleaning rod and patches, in case you plunge the muzzle into mud. An oily cloth in case for wiping over. On most hunting trips you will fire less than a box of ammo.

What if it was a car polish? Chemically it isn‘t much different.
Again, put it in the check-in luggage. If they fish it out then so be it.

I had a few small bottles of paint in my wash bag in the check in luggage back from Vegas, a bit of make up? No issues.

Agree that it’s not really any different. But the words - Guns, Firearms etc suddenly gets every body very excited and every thing then gets a very close examination and rather than relaxing in the airport lounge with a nice beverage you have a rather irritating hour and stress of whether or not you will catch your plane.

Then relabel it.
Risk adversity has gotten the better of most people these days🙄.
‚Live and let die‘ is gone. Now it’s ‚I could die if I live‘.
