Love the Darkies in summer too Klenchy and winter lol...add spring also. I was asked is it as good as Guinness? Just the other day...almost, but not as good as one off tap in an Irish pub.

This is what remained. The whole rump muscle from a red, pre salted then cooked in a kettle type barbecue for 20 min then rested. Chopped spring onion, capers, thyme, lemon juice, garlic as the dressing

My partner was today making two pork pies as they are not on sale in Germany so it is a DIY jobbie, cooking them on a water filled tray in the oven but they are delicious.

Cleaned the freezer, found a roe deer crown(?) from 2024.

Didnt want to test it on invites, so made a propper dinner for me and the missus.
All vegetables fresh from the garden.

Roe with a crust of fresh herbs and panko - kale with dried winter chantarelles - new Gloria potatoes - red wine sauce and sugared lingonberries.



Meat were still perfectly fine

Gave a mate a roe haunch.

Marinated and cooked on the cold side of the BBQ for an hour.

Said it came out medium rare and was amazing.
