Just wanted share a photo of a knife I ordered via Stin at Forge Hunt.
He is located in Belgium and from ordering to delivery was circa 4 weeks with no customs problems either .
Not connected to him or his business but thought was a very nice man and great product.

Think he has a FB page and Instagram also but I don’t use those

Very nice.

I very much like the style, but not the price. so much so that I made my own that is of very similar design.

How does the price compare to a cael? EU patent story sounds like a right porkie pie definatey another rip off, perhaps even the same guy that might just be how far he had to run.😂
Cheaper than a Cael.
Eu patent I don’t know but why don’t you ask him and I’m sure he will show you if nothing to hide.
He’s Belgian , not some English fly by night.

You sound quite a bitter old fella who spouts dross about rip off’s before even knowing facts .

actually the knife is a bit of me, and sorry i didnt put my appreciation for the craftmanship in the first post. just for me its nice to buy from home when possible. Appreciate the guys at emberleaf have invested a lot of time and money to develop a brand and a style and shame it can be so easily copied. You say there was a cost saving over emberleaf so maybe thats their own downfall.

Absolutely nothing to do with any knives being discussed or makers
Honest question- do people think nobody made knives similar to Cael blade shape prior to 2015 ish ? I made one from an old mechanical hacksaw during my time at British Steel (early 80s) that had similar shape but obviously not ground and believe it was a compressed air line for a handle. Why do people have to argue ?

If this is the must-have deerstalker blade profile of the 21st Century is it any wonder knife makers are producing their version and to various standards of finish in accordance with their skill sets?

I like green and the Bob Loveless drop point!

I have worked with Stijn and his products for a considerable amount of time. He is a crafts man who takes a huge amount of pride in his work constantly pushing himself to make better and better products at a price that you don’t need to remortgage anything for. He has the European patent for this shape of blade while emberleaf hold the uk. I am sure he would be happy to demonstrate that however it does seem unnecessary.

What you have here is a genuine, passionate guy producing an exceptional product at a price that won’t cripple regular people. I have tested his blades to the edge of what is reasonable and beyond without failing. A bit of competition is a healthy thing and will only drive people to push the boundaries further!

I am happy to support Forge Hunt and Stijn as he/it progresses. To keep up with what’s going on and how we are using the products in the field keep an eye out on the Forge Hunt website and Facebook page for our monthly blog/vlog kicking off in August.

The patent system somewhat confuses me. Could this individual market his prodcut directly in the uk under his Eu patent for example despite the fact that a seperate patent exists in that particular market? Guess the question works both ways, have emberleaf by only holding a uk patent cut themselves off from marketing in the eu?

Emberleaf sell all over the world, in this day and age, patents are very hard to hold up, the Chinese don,t give a rats xxx, Knife makers come and go like dew on the grass, the first sign of a new boy on the block is when there supporters rant about how much cheaper they are than the maker they copy, then they go full time and realise how much you need to charge to live off there products,

I didn't realise there was patents for knives unless it was some fancy locking or opening system, How do they get around bushcraft knives, They all look very similar.

Not
Imitation is the best form of flattery, if you are doing a advertisement for the maker, please give more info, steel , handle material, angle of grind, hardness, any info you can think of.
No idea but also the maker . I liked it and bought it on recommendation
