Don't need a lamp in the snow, I use a foxcalluk caller, works for me. I just have a mooch, look out for fresh tracks, and head in the same direction

Always good to have alook round in the day for some well used tracks, drop some bait about come back later and sit it out. Even easier if your constantly on the land (farmer) and what tracks are where combined with knowing when it has snowed gives you a good idea when they are about

no need for a lamp as long as you have a complete covering of snow if youve got clumps of grass showing it wll make it hard to see the foxes coming in and all i do is sit in a likly spot but i always try to have it so that no foxes will come from behind me so back yourself up to a farm building, river or somthing else where you know foxes wont be coming from because if your having to fidget about looking behind you all the time charlie is more than likly going to spot you moving around then just have a sqweak i like a series of short sqweaks so as the fox is looking around for you when it enters the field and it cant lock on to exactly where you are and then wont spot you as you get your rifle into position but in fairness its what ever works for you on the night so good luck

I must live in the only area that doesn't have any sodding snow, great thatWent out for 3 hours on Friday night saw 10 roe and 1 fox, trouble was he was on stubble 90yds down wind so didn't hang about, lots of tracks. Leicas are simply superb on snow fields, little need to use lamp.
Sat morning found myself and N0 1 son tucked up in the top of a barn overlooking a silage clamp, 7 magies dispatched with the air guns, however one poor magpie had an unfortunate collision with a 60grn V max at 90yds, burried it in pink snow!!!

went out last night
nice wide gully with lots of track and gorse opening into a huge space
perfect view out to 400yds against the snow. backed into a gorse bush so I wasn't silouhetted
rifle on quad sticks ready to engage.
tried every call I had in my arsenal and never saw a sausage!

been out 2 times this last week and only seen 2 charlies, 6 hours on 2,000 acres in total silence with the caller on,
nout to show for it, must be all the mac D's in the area, why walk around a cold field when they can just pop to the nearest row of shops and come home pot bellied.

Had a look at nordik predator and couldnt see the fox heat on the site, where did you get yours?
You must be looking at the UK site that has yet to cath up with this newly devloped call. I would suggest you go direct to Nordik Predator c/o http://www.nordikpredator.com/ but for some reason the site is not responding!

Lots of snow round me recently and I found a few tracks crossing some fields which has a particularly lamp shy fox raking aboot the last few weeks.
Tracks disappeared where the ground had thawed near a burn but as luck would have it, right place right time and all that, I caught up on a vixen crossing the burn on the fallen tree in the pic, broad daylight, no wind, tip toe throught the snow, quiet squeak to stop & dropped it in the burn with my 243.
And yes, it was removed from the water after the shot.
