Full Length Sizing

The Dies will vary within a batch ever so slightly , the case will vary and in time the brass work hardens .
Neck sizing on most cartridges will end up tight to extract or chamber as the case if it doesn't crack .
There is no better than full length sizing ( exception is things like the .22 Hornet )
A good check is to remove the spring from the bolt and run your brass through a close and extract test ( it should have no real tension on closing )
Check your carses length and trim to specification ( a lot of folks miss doing this )
See #31 above.

I’ve screwed it down so it’s against the shell holder at the top of the ram travel but it’s still not fitting. Is there something else to adjust?

Looking at the Erik Cortina video I feel like I’m doing the same thing which is frustrating.

You need someone with a lathe to remove .040” from the die base so you can size your cases properly

Not all FL sizers, FL size without some “ajustment”

Like some of the lads said. Screw the die doen a 1/4 of a turn... Resize and try in your rifle. If it's still tight screw another 1/4 untill you get a nice free bolt close... 👍

I drilled a suitable diameter hole in a block of wood then with it sat on a belt sander I dropped the FL die in the hole just on its own weight and kept turning it, measured often until I had taken off enough to get the bolt to set correctly on my Argentine Mauser. I could not set the shoulder back enough to close the bolt before this modification with the die. Not lathe work but it worked bubba style.
