Fx Impact pressure.

Evening all. Potentially stupid questions.

Just got myself a new fx impact MK 4 FAC. It came filled to 200bar.

Shot it yesterday for 1st time. Very impressed with it. Pressure down to 150 after about 45 shots.

So went to top up the pressure with my dive bottle but it won’t go above 200bar. Should have a max fill of 250 bar.

Gauge on air rifle and dive bottle read 200bar when connected.

It’s only a 3lt dive bottle. What am I missing here. Dive bottle was almost full so should have air in it still. However not been used for a couple years. Cheers.

If both gauges read the same, then that’s what you have left in both. FAC Air does consume much more air. However if you out on the Rabbits it’s a hell of an evening if you run out of air 🤩👍

It’s hours be easy enough given the size of the cylinder on the rifle to roughly work out how many refills from a small (at 3lts is small) tank

Here you go, this will make you think:

The number of times you can completely refill your FX Impact M4 from 150 bar to 225 bar depends directly on the volume size of your supply tank and the buddy bottle on your rifle. [1]
Because your supply tank is only filled to 250 bar (which is very close to your target gun pressure of 225 bar), the supply pressure will drop quickly after each decant. Assuming your rifle has the standard FAC 580 cc (0.58 L) carbon fiber bottle, here is exactly how many full fills you can expect across common dive tank sizes:[1]
  • 3 Litre Tank: 1 full fill (the second fill will only equalize to ~216 bar)
  • 4 Litre Tank: 2 full fills
  • 5 Litre Tank: 2 full fills
  • 7 Litre Tank: 4 full fills
  • 9 Litre Tank: 5 full fills
  • 12 Litre Tank: 6 full fills
(Note: If your rifle has the smaller 480 cc (0.48 L) bottle, you will get 2 full fills from a 3L tank, 4 fills from a 7L tank, and 8 fills from a 12L tank).

Now that wasn’t too hard 👍

Many thanks for the answer. So in a nut shell…. Not enough air in the dive bottle to get a larger fill than 200bar? Gonna need another bottle I think! Many thanks.

No….

You need at least 1 12ltr tank that will take the full 300 bar, giving you longer periods between refills, for both the tank and rifle.
@Gunner223 mentioned 2 are better than one.

If your shooting from a static position and the tank is below 220 bar, you can quite safely leave it connected to the rifle cylinder. 😎
