Well I went to my local gun shop with the intention to buy a slab of Gamebore dark storm 12g 32 5’s which I have been using But they had none left. At this point he offered up high pheasant an rc’s but he just had a delivery of the new game bore uer which I don’t no much about other than it’s for higher birds
Anyone been using these? There also £20 more expensive than dark storms plus there a bio wad prob has something to do with th reprove incresse thanks

It's just harder shot belive 5% antimony.

Gamebore make good cartridges, it's just seeing through all their marketing crap. Suppose that's what sells cartridges after all. I'm on dark storm 28gram 6 at the mo as I got a good deal on 1000. Happy so far, forat time using.

RC HPF3 in 32 gram 5 are excellent, shot some really tall stuff with them last year. On par with the high phesant extreme being continental shot.

£20...a third of a high bird... Seen a few lads using them, no complaints, no rave reviews, just taking tall stuff down as usual.
I've always found Black Gold thumpy, but then so are RC, and I (and a few pals) swear by them. Been using Lyalvale Ultimate Power of late (12 & 20), and they're very efficient yet soft to shoot.

had to look them up to see the marketing crap 😊 which they do a good job on.

Changed the powder to give them superior performance, well they had to change powder as Fiocchi brought out B&P which was the powder gamebore was using so they lost that and they lost the B&P gordon recoil reducing cases.

Hope you like them, as said i have also found black gold thumpy and loud.

This is interesting as a result of water soluble wads.

Specialist Cleaning Instructions: Using a bronze wire brush, remove the excess wad residue whilst dry. Next, spray a mild, water-based household cleaning product such as glass cleaner down the barrels and leave for a few minutes to allow the breakdown of any stubborn residue. Use the bronze wire brush again to remove any remaining streaks, followed by a rag or dry tissue to wipe away the remaining cleaning product. Dry the barrels thoroughly before applying a gun oil.

Or, if you have a modern backbored Beretta, scrub like buggery for ages, then ponder if your barrels are knackered as they're still streaky 🤣

May as well use black powder also, poor boiling water down your Purdey barrels.

Bet the gun shop don’t tell you what you need to do to clean the barrels after using them, before you buy them.

progress indeed.

I have tried R C Professional Game 28 gram of Italian #7 which is actually Emglish 6 1/2 and find that they work well enough in my 2 1/2" chamber gun bored IMPROVED and IMPROVED.

I’ll get them a go over the festive period see how I get on, as long as it goes bang I’ll be fine

I'm sure they will be alright.

Odds on they are just black golds with harder shot and fancy new packaging.

As for the eco wads they test them on a shoot local to us, belive they have re jigged the formula but the originals didn't bi degrade soon enough and there was lots of complaints! Same with the hull ones, though they atleast they admit they take a long time but do infact biodegrade

Yeh looks like it’s gonna be a pain in the ass to clean the gun afterwards a few more steps to throw in , yeh dark storm have a thump but I like them , so I’m hoping these are much of a muchness

I have a browning 525 true left , anyone who’s held it hates it is so backwards for a righty

I think the barrel cleaning part is just going to be a pain in the ass

I think it’s time the cartridge manufacturers had to put on the cartridge packaging how long typically the wads take to breakdown in the environment after being shot and if the barrels require a special cleaning method.

So we as consumers can make an educated decision on what we buy.

Thing is there's no timeline for somthing to bio degrade, so somthing can be biodegradable but it takes 2 years for example for them to degrade.

Legally speaking anyway, Personally il just carry on using my fibre wads untill we have to transion over to steel legally (if it happens)

indeed only the cardboard wads biodegrade as their are no microorganisms in the soil that feed on any type of plastic hence single use plastic can take hundreds of years to decompose.
The others are water soluble and dissolve so they disappear or are compostable which is quick in an industrial composting process but can take years in the open countryside environment.

There are standards EN 13432 or CEN/TR 159325.

None of the wads carry the logo to show they conform to EN 13432 because they likely do not.

Think I got pushed into this cartridge without being explained the special cleaning method , I can’t be bothered with , but saying that might be easy enough to clean , or they will be up for grabs
