Garlands Sighting Range

Well if people don't know where their FAC allow's them to shoot, Probably explains why they think its ok to shoot the seats and Range funiture:rofl:

Went to Garlands Sighting Range last week and was Disgusted with what shooters are doing there !

.17 HMR cases all over the floor and .17 holes in everything including the seats !! Who give W****** like these a FAC ?
I wish Garlands would check the range after each session and ban any stupid shooting and leaving rubbish for everyone else to fall all over.

Unfortunately the people that treat the range with respect will lose out when it is no longer available

hi splash sorry you feel like that as we have a zeroing day there on the last Sunday of the month and my boards are repaired and replaced as needed every month at grate cost to me.

as its the top rail that gets shot through as people put things on there after there told not to . all the boards have been put there by me so I apologise if there in poor state as I have not been there last November but they will be sorted before the 31st of jan .
I do understand what you mean about people leaving cases but we have a sweep up before and after each day but I cannot help what others do there for the rest of the month . as for the pallet I don't know where that has come from it just appeared attached to the leg of one of my posts

as long as you have ... zeroing on land deemed suitable by the cheifconstable .you are in condition of your cert you only need to contact the flo if you are unsure the land is passed for a calibre and the land on your file is only to prove you have a need for a firearm.

so for people with a closed cert has your range been cleared for up to a certain caliber ?

fruitloop

Its not the target boards or the pallet that is the problem. Its the shooting of the seats, 56 gallon drums for rubbish and anything else that is shot to pieces. majority of brass on the floor is HMR.

PS Thank you for posting

hi jim it is passed for all .30 cal and the tunnel is passed for 500 nitro hope that helps.as I say its not a mod range but land deemed suitable for zeroing but what .30 cal will punch through a 30ft deep bank of earth .

spash I understand what you are saying but in all walks of life you get the odd one or two that think the rules don't apply to them but if we try to do the right thing hopefully we may change the attitude of the ones who do this.

regards fruitloop

Thanks for clearing that up. 500 nitro is less than half the ME of a .50 bmg.

Some people just do not think ahead,

As a range owner, we have problems with people shooting things that they should not, and it puts us in a very difficult position.

Our range is used by the police 9-5 Monday to Friday, and private individuals in the evenings and at the weekend.
Just recently the police put up all new range markers from 5m back to 100m, they were not happy when they turned up on Monday morning, to find that someone had shot every one of there new signs.
