Gemse/Chamois

I love the hat Conor! Not quite so taken with the swede under it though ;). I stalked chamois or camoscio as they are called the Italian side of the border. I was only carrying a camera, but it was a great experience on the snow capped peaks. I've put it on my bucket list now. Nice photo, Buckup.

Well done Condor, a difficult animal to hunt, I have hunted them in NZ, I will have to go back for another crack. As you say there is fit and there is hill fit.

Thx Tahr.

The hill fit thing is something I can't over emphasize. NZ is on the cards. Have some good friends from Christchurch and having heard my Dads reports on the trout fishing down there..........it will happen sooner rather than later! I hope my long suffering wife will permit me to bring my .308

You might find the NZ way of hunting a bit different fromthe Austria hunting, although I have only visited and not in hunted Austria, yet.
There are good Chamois numbers in the Southern Alps, also good reds and of cause Tahr. I hunted them above Hamner Springs, and in Mesopotamia. The NZ boar hunting is great, I real enjoyed it, but another activity you really have to be fit for.Sorry mate I am not a fisherman but as you say I understand that there is fantastic fishing out there.

These were taken on the French/Italian border. Perhaps because I had no rifle, they were very easy to approach. The electric fence in pic two is to stop them moving down onto cattle pasture.

Great photos Buck.

Isn't that always the case; lots of carefree wildlife about when the rifle is left at home!

Will add more when I get the time. Have taken a lot of stick about the hat, but I am unrepentant...........!

Very well done. Thats a species I want on my wall before I get too old get it:old:. Thought I would give you the ammo WD:-D
