Not wanting to derail the OP's thread,
But, i see ur in scotland tommod, both the parents ( possibly a few grand parents too) of the stud dog are both based in scotland. ( hawick and perthshire) and 1 of the lads of this site actually bred the mother.

If the stud is anything like the parents it should be a cracker both patch and decoy are cracking dogs with a brilliant temperment.

Hi! Yes, I still have your dog’s grandmother. Moorrunner masquerade. She’s litter mate to ftch moorrunner marksman. She’s 13 years old now and starting to slow down. I have an 18 month old pup from wales who’s grandfather was Moorrunner Marksman and I was hoping to track down one of Decoy’s pups to possibly put to her. I’ll send you a PM for contact details.

Decoy was my favourite in the litter, I really wanted to keep her but I’m so pleased she went to Jackie to realise her potential. Every dog I’ve met from these lines have ticked every box for me. They’re slaves to working, aggressive when they need to be and absolutely perfect temperament wise. I would heartily recommend them if you’re looking for a GWP that’s not likely to be a nutter.

Here’s a old video of my dog doing bits and bats.

I can't believe Quill/Moorrunner marksman and ur dog is 13 now.
Is Quill still alive and studding then?
I mind shooting over decoy on my wee shoot when it was just young and getting going and doesnae seem that long ago :old: But i bet it could be surprising how long ago that will be now.

No, I think Quill died a year or so ago. Decoy will be 9 coming 10 I would say. Sure they were born in 2012. Most of the pups are still in contact. Half of them went to grouse moors and a couple went to rough shooters and a couple went to stalkers. Mine was a reasonable all rounder but stalking was her forte. I killed lots of bucks that she pointed but I hadn’t seen. She wraps herself around your legs to stop you bumping them.

My pup is coming on well. She’s had a whole season lamping deer and has done pretty well. She’s worked three species of deer and even found a couple of boar over the winter. I’m planning on refining her stalking abilities over the summer. Should be a good dog. I think she’ll be suitable for breeding in a couple of years and I’d love a pup off her with my other dog in their pedigree.

Anyone looking for quality gwp puppy give Rory major a ring he as just left Eddie my stud dog

Shame you are not closer!! I have a bitch here that was bred out of the last stud dog that Chris gray had 4 years ago. I’m looking for a stud for her this spring (march/April time) but I’m in south Scotland unfortunately. This is her pedigree and her if you know of anyone closer to me👍she is a big bitch though.

I’ve a solid liver KC dog, north Northumberland. He goes back to Chris Grays FTCH Trudvang Balder as well as some imported blood

Whatever happened to Chris Gray?! He was a top bloke and a lot of time and patience for all. I had my bitch down to Balder for a dirty week. Where she did me so proud as to not stand for Balder at all, was outwardly aggressive when he wanted to get some action, then destroyed the low window sill in Chris' house, whilst scrabbling to get out and I footed the bill and zero pups. To make matters worse, his mother was ill so he dropped him off to me at a Land Rover specialist in South Queensferry. Where my GWP bitch then decided that another customers red/white Irish Setter was the man for the job and the tail shot to the side...couldnt make it up!

That just sounds like my luck all over that! Chris is still working away but don’t think he is doing the dogs anymore which is a shame
