Glasses

I wear glasses when I’m shooting and your right they are a pain particularly when it’s raining. I have tried contact lenses and found them to be quite good once you have managed to get them in. Perfect when on the grouse as I also wear Pilla glasses for protection. I have thought of getting laser correction but I’m a bit apprehensive plus there is the cost. Might be worth it?

Had glass all my life. Last 15 yrs verfocal. I just get on with it no issues. If I did stalking as other have said contact lenses, disposal. Much better in the rain.

I wear specs and contact lenses for distance, but need reading specs when wearing contact lenses.

I was having probs out shooting, as I was finding it difficult to focus on the reticle and fox / deer at the same time with my contacts and had to put on reading specs before taking a shot.

I saw a chap on youtube, who ground the lens from a pair of reading glasses to fit into his ocular dust cover.

I considered this route, might still do, but went to the optician and she suggested a new contact lens prescription that I could use only for shooting. Works a treat. Just pop into specsavers and buy some as I need.

Have worn specs for 50 years. Varrifocals now. Can shoot in daylight in them but its a no no at night. Serious shooting I wear single vision specs and no issues. Also wear dispo contacts, good if it is v wet. Just need to take reading glasses as cannot see anything close up. No issues with adjustment on scopes or bins.

I have worn specs for years; currently varifocal. Apart for them slipping down my nose enough for the top rim to get in the way, no problems.
Bogmoor mentioned difficulty focussing the reticle and target at the same time. It probably varies between makes, but I find that you use the optical ( nearest the eye) adjuster to focus the reticle, and then the parallax adjuster to focus the target.
