It's been a cold miserable day in South Glos. 10mm rain and now 14c. Log burner chimney swept on Tuesday and I cleaned it up so it's had a test burn and now the lounge is a toasty 24c. I cannot recall ever having my log burner running in August!
Just miserable. Mine is rarely in use until mid to late September. Upside is kettle sitting on burner so not using any gas and unlimited hot water for tea and coffee.

Got 3 sets of waterproofs hanging upto dry and been tempted to get the fire on. Instead the whisky is getting opened up and that shall hear me up. Never had such a wet and cold August.
Fired up my burner last night in south Bucks. Was lovely until the baffle dropped down as is now in two parts. Now need to research installing a replacement.
Had mine lit most evenings throughout July. Nothing roaring, just a low fire on a bed of coal (suck it up Greta) to take the edge off.
Haven't cut the grass for about a month. It's waterlogged and covered in giant soggy fungi.
