Gun shy? Or double O buckshot?

Looking at the pics showing the "hits" I had to wonder if the shooter is gun shy or used the 00BS. Generally the 00BS is nine pellets.
Perhaps it was a matter of spraying with an auto handgun with eyes shut. If it was a handgun then my take is that they started at a reasonable height then let the recoil take over forcing the barrel high.
