Hi

I’m in the market for a new pair of boots anyone got a pair of these. They are not cheap but heard they are a quality pair of boots that can be re-soled in future.

Would be interested in any user comments of actual performance in the field.

Thanks

JCB

I’ve got a pair and a pair of the other model which I can’t mind what they are but they are more a summer boot with no tie protection.the trappers are grand I’ve no had any issue with them. I tried a pair of droves first and hated them so swapped them for these and I’m happy with them so far! I’ve not done a mass with them thought just a few days on the deer and a few days on the partridge but they are going fine the noo

Thanks for the reply. From your experience do they last a good day on the wet boggy ground. Also what are the soles like grip wise?

I have a pair that are 11 years old now. These have been my go to boots for Stalking in the flow country Caithness, which is about as boggy as you can get! They started to leak on the goretex lining at the inside seams on the heal/ achilles area about three years ago, and were replaced by some dimme brand esscose calf high equivalent boots.

all in all very impressed with them, the grips were excellent on rock and mud. The boots never really let water in on the boggy ground for the first seven years, they are gtx lined all the way up to the last inch and a half of the top of the boot. They have quite a stiff sole, which is good on rocky/rough ground, especially if you have ankle problems like me, they strap up nice and tight and support very well!

Quality was good held up well. I have a second pair of lighter, low ankle hangwags, purchased on the basis of the quality of my trapper top GXT. This second pair of hiking boots are lasting well too.

my trappers top gtx are thermal lined however, which makes them too hot in autumn, worth checking this before you buy unless using mainly in winter. Highly recommended!
