Sold: Heck Pack

I looked at them was put off by the lightness also the having not being able to use the tow ball.
I bought a 4 bike carrier it needed cutting down and welding [ it was below my stepsons pay grade to do that ] it was to heavy . I broke two springs on my l200.
Now have a heck pack curtsey of Overlay.well worth the travel from North Wales to Kent to collect it.
Yesterday I traveled back from the borders with 4 roe on it in a plasters bath.

Bike rack is for sale still in the Scottish borders Was going to take the ball hitch off and sell that separately

My advice if you can not get a second hand heck pack
Buy new

Two rear leaf springs fitted was the cost of a new heck pack

Thanks finnbear I’ve seen a few that fit into a “receiver tube”, my tow bar hasn’t turned up yet but not sure I have a receiver tube! Or can you bolt on a receiver tube to a flange tow bar?
No. I made up one 2 inch square hole as they are not retailed in Europe inc UK.
The heck pack clamp is available on its own too with a long lever to clamp to the 50mm ball hitch if you wanted to weld up your own basket.
Many Jimneys over here run around with it "the basket" fitted as a permanent add-on to the rear end.

Wasn't expecting too much for £69.00, but pleasantly surprised by the wall thickness.
IMG_2132.webpI'll see how we get on with usage, I have a little steelstock left that would come in handy to take any wibblewobble out.

Always wondered about these things. Are they in spec for the towbar.
I did my D1+E for minibus with towing recently and the limit is 75kg weight on the ball
I mean it's not gonna lift the nose or anything but sticking a couple of fallows on the might make the steering a bit ligh on a small vehicle

I’m rejoicing in the Freelander having 140k limit!

Not on my Disco it’s not 👍 - 75kg is caravan weight on a normal car I think?

I’m not calling you a liar….. but  , I have a 2 and it would not take that weight. Mine is rated to 75 and the way it sticks out from underneath, I’m surprised yours will take 150.
I haven’t picked it up yet but everywhere I have checked it should be 150kg from the manual to the tow car awards. Where do you see your 75kg rating?
