Hi there

I grew up hunting & fishing in the West Country around Dartmoor / Tavistock. Purchased my 1st shotgun (an old greener martini action 12 gauges) with my first weeks wages. Now and for many years I have lived in Southern Ontario, Canada. Right now it's the middle of our Deer season for bow & crossbow. Today is the last day for our controlled hunt which includes shotgun, slug gun and muzzleloader. In Southern Ontario where I live there's no deer hunting with a rifle. If I were in Northern Ontario then the season is open For rifle, bow etc.

I'm joining today because I have fond memories of being a kid on the beat line, cramped and wet in some beaten up series 1 landrover, Fallow and Red deer around the Tavistock area in the rut and running dogs on the moor.

Thanks for having me !!

Welcome , obviously a lot has changed here and Canada regards legislation and many things have gone now . That's what happens when people in power have no clue how and why the countryside works

Welcome, I was in Georgetown and Orangeville in 1971 but could not find work there so I came back to the UK. Do they still sprinkle salt on their beer froth?

Lovely place Ontario.
Many summers spent fishing on the Ottawa river and camping in Algonquin Park.
Enjoy the site.
