Hi everyone. I’m from Northern Ireland and have a family member on the site who recommended it to me. I’ve been shooting for around 20 years now, started out like most with an air gun and a shotgun. Done a lot of rough shooting and hunting at the start before finding my way into geese shooting and eventually competitive clay pigeon shooting. Over the years I always enjoyed plinking with a .22 and hunting rabbits. After a while I was encouraged to join a rifle club where I shot a bit of indoors and outdoors to 50m, more to keep my eye in for the bunnies. Just after the 1st lockdown I went and done my dsc1 course and applied for a .308, currently it’s on only for target use at the minute. Since purchasing that rifle I’ve had a go at some f class shooting and currently am building it to compete with. Last year I joined another locsl rifle club which is more active in competition shooting and I have competed in a few .22 benchrest competitions, winning division 2 in my first year, and a few of the opens here I’ve finished top 3 each time. Hopefully with a bit more practice with the centre fire rifle I’ll get to the point where I’m comfortable enough that when I place the crosshairs on my first deer it’s dropping. (I personally feel that you need to be consistently accurate before you go to live game). Anyway that’s a brief round up of myself and look forward to gaining more knowledge through this forum.
