Help with proof marks on Aya

Good day honored forum members.

I have bought my self a cute little Aya 28 bore. (A joy to shoot, I am sold )
I believe it is a no4/53, and according to serial no. It is from 2001.

I have a question regarding the markings.

Most of them I believe i have figured out
From the left I read:

13.9 = diameter of barrel

28/70 = caliber

1098 gmos = weight of barrel (?)

Stamp 1 = proofed in Eibar

Stamp 2 = ?????????

Stamp 3= Re-inforced smokeless proof for shotguns barrels with proof pressure of 12.801 psi

And then I reckon it is proofed for 1370 bar.

The second stamp bothers me, what does it mean??

28 = bore
70mm is chamber length
1370 bar is pressure (this is quite a high number which is good for you)

I really cant see the image, are you able to get a better picture? The main question is if and what type of steel you can use. Normally this would be a fleur-de-lys or the symbol.

The gun is NOT proofed for High Performance Steel. The "mystery" mark is not a steel proof mark and, in any case, the date of manufacture if 2001 is before this would have been done. The star markings are degree of choke. The more stars (as you stamp an extra one each tome you open out the choke) the more open the choke.

I would say 2 things, need a better picture and BP is a mark for Nitro Proof Eibar in my book

Not asking about steel proof or not though, just could not figure out what the mark was.

Do you by any chance know what year they started with the Fleur de lys and standard/hp steel at CIP?

And I think Tim.243 has led me in the right direction it is a BP mark.

The markings are quite shallow, you wont see much more from the markings, unless i wack out a macro camera, which I dont have

But i think you are right on the BP mark, didnt see it as letters. Saw it as a blobby cross with a foot.

Funny you would stamp a gun with a proof stamp for both 12801 psi, 12090 psi and 1370 bar
