Hensoldt scope query

A friend of mine has a Hensoldt 6-24x72 scope he wants to sell, and has asked me what I think it's worth. As I know absolutely nothing about this rather unusual but obviously high-quality scope, I wondered if anyone could shed some light on it.

I have translated the advert for you.

Up for auction is a Hensoldt 6-24x72 riflescope including screw-on sunshade, dust cover, and EraTac block mount (20 MOA). This rare and now discontinued scope was used, among other things, by the German Armed Forces on the G82 rifle. Unfortunately, the original packaging and instruction manual are no longer available. The original packaging for the EraTac block mount is included.

Tell him that I’ll cover the postage & dispose of it for him without charging him 👍

On a serious note, it’s the military version of the fabled Zeiss Diavari 6-24x72 ‘Hubble’ which seems to sell for about £1600-1800 s/h if & when they come on the market. Some will be prepared to pay a premium because it says Hensoldt on it not Zeiss.

I’m sure others will pop up & advise if I’ve got this wrong.

Cracking scope & I’d love to have one but no way can I justify the expense when I already have three of the 6-24x56 Diavari’s 😎 & an Alpex for when it gets too dark to use them.

I've already ordered a custom set of mounts & rings for this so please confirm if my offer of £500 has been accepted. Postage to be included, of course.

That's a very kind offer, DB; I'll pass your message on. However, knowing that he's a bit on the mean side, I doubt he'll take you up on what really is a very thoughtful offer!
