Hi all,
I have joined this forum to be able to chat with other like minded people, share tips and stories and to see what deer management looks like across the country.
I am a professional gamekeeper based in Essex, I keeper Wild pheasants and duck on a private syndicate. I take part in all forms of shooting, my passion being wildfowling. Ive been involved in managing deer for my entire life being the grandson of a gamekeeper and son of a shoot manager. I manage predominantly Fallow and Muntjac however help a friend in Northumberland manage a few Roe from time to time.
I use a Steyr professional hunter 2 in .243 calibre, using the 85 grain Winchester Copper Impact rounds to great success , I also have recently got a Sako finnlight 2, chambered in 6.5 creedmore (yes I know, very fashionable) using Sako powerblade in 120 grain. my god do they drop them.
