Hello Everyone. I have hunted my whole life and as I’ve got older and capable of spending some more money to hunt abroad I have been many places in Canada and a several in the US and to Africa.

I have never hunted on the European continent yet I have visited a few countries there. Joining here I am hoping to make some contacts and hunt Europe.

My main goal is to avoid the booking agents in the USA lol and deal directly with the game managers/pro hunters/ and landowners in Europe. As I’m not much for Luxury hotels and wine tours yet. I’m looking for straight up hunting adventures.

Thanks fellas. Right now I was looking to hunt chamois in Austria.

But I’ve also poked around for deer hunting in the UK and would like to do that sometime also.

As for Canada, to swap a trip here in Ontario all I can offer to non residents is archery whitetail and turkey hunting. I have roughly 3000 acres private land with low hunting pressure. Or for fishing we can fly into northern Ontario (I have a floatplane) and fish walleye on airplane only accessible lakes.

Welcome,
Anywhere near Georgetown?
My family on the fathers side are based there since 1913, went there once at 21 on a landed immigrant visa but no work "1971".

Funny enough I’m actually south of “London” Ontario
A pal of mine from my apprenticeship days went over to London as a draftsman and then started the Century 21 business in the town last time I called him back in 1987 he was a millionaire. John Labbet.

I do not know him but oddly enough you said there was no work in 1971 Georgetown but in 70s and 80s there was money to be made in London via real estate and construction. But that was before my time.

I was basically a patternmaker in a car styling studio using woodworking hand tools. All I found was work standing inside a huge recvee mold doing fiberglassing of the bodyshell, the fumes beat hands down glue sniffing.

So me being a complete noob to hunting in the UK. How does everything work? Are the animals owned by the crown or landowners? Is there tags allocated or purchased/animal and what requirements do I need as a Canadian to get a UK hunting license/permit?

Can I hunt direct with someone or must they be a licensed “guide”? Etc.

Thank you

Welcome from Cornwall. I lived in BC for 9 years and hunted a lot, still miss the freedom and space, but in UK no bag limits and hunting almost all year. A lot easier to take someone out here with an estate rifle, no tags ,deer belong to landowner, no different regs unless you go Scotland or Wales and then only minor.

All deer here are owned by the king.
If you get caught shooting them you would be punished severely!
