Hello folks, my name is Liam. I'm pretty new to the world of hunting after becoming increasingly interested in obtaining my own animal protein and wild meat as a more ethical and environmentally sensitive alternative to the use of domesticated animals for food. I was gifted a .22 air rifle and now shoot rabbits (or try to!) at the farm where I work in South Devon. It's been quite a journey to suddenly be responsible for taking the lives of living breathing beings, and it's moved me quite strongly to consider my own mortality & place in the vast web of life here on earth. I've also begun to go out accompanying my friend on deer stalks and have now witnessed 3 deer kills (two fallow and a red deer hind). Thanks for having me on the forum! Warm wishes to you all. Liam.

Hi Liam, I'm in south Devon.Whereabouts are you?
We're blessed here, red fallow and roe(possibly muntjac and sika too). It's interesting, seems to be a lot of folks getting back to basics. All good in my book.
Keep practising with the rabbits/.22, the skills you are developing will help you when you're on the deer.

Thanks so much everyone for the welcoming comments. To Devonair... I'm living near Totnes and my work is in Bickington where I shoot rabbits. Where are you?
