Hi from Hampshire

Living just south of Winchester. Have had SGC for 8 or so years and do some pigeon shooting a bit of driven occasionally. Recently joint a shoot on the Hampshire / Wilts border which also has stalking rights and is mainly Fallow. I’ve been out a few times with friends on the shoot and a friend who is a guide locally. Awaiting Hampshire Constabulary to reopen FAC applications at the end of March and will be applying. Also taking DSC1 in April with the Deer Society. Will hopefully be looking to get a .308 for a few reasons. But decent stopping power with non toxic loads, and a friend already reloads .308 so it would make ammo a little easier! But it maybe I end up with a smaller calibre! Looking to get myself set up before next winter. I appreciate all the wisdom and expertise that you guys and gals have and are willing to share! Thank you!

Welcome from another Hampshire resident 👍

Stick to the plan for a 308 & good luck with the FAC application - even once they start taking them I would imagine it'll take a fair while for them to get through the pile they'll undoubtedly have!

Thanks, I think a 308 is reasonable but you never know what the boys and girls in blue might have to say about it! Suspect applications might take a while, but aiming to get set for October primarily!
