Hi, I'm new to this so please bear with me. I'm 70 and have been hunting and loading for 55 years. Nice to meet you all.

Like I said I'm new at this. I have this Parker Hale model 1200 in 243 win varmint barrel. It shoots lighter bullets like 80 or 85 gr. I think the barrel is a 1 in 10 twist because the heavier loads like 100 gr shoot terrible. Can anyone confirm the twist of this rifle?

Welcome!
I think it is 1 in 10, but I'm sure someone else with more knowledge than me will be able to confirm.
Incidentally, my Parker-Hale shoots lighter bullets (58grn and 60grn) absolutely fine, and 100grn absolutely fine, but anything in between that (such as 80 or 85grn) it hates!
Funny how these old rifles have their little idiosyncrasies!

Welcome. You check check the twist rate using a cleaning rod with a brush. If you put some tape on the rod to make a flag indicator then insert the rod and make a small mark. once the rod has made 1 full rotation make another mark and measure the distance between marks.
