Hi all,
I am looking to buy my first highseat
there seem to be quite a few to chose from
Bushwear do a very handy alloy folding one for £199.99
Swillington shooting also do a budget steel for only£99.98
what dos everyone use, did you make your own!
any feed back will help me decide!

Cheers Tikka595

Just bought a Seeland Hercules. Apparently like the Bushwear one but a bit more robust. Did think of the budget steel one but was told the shooting rail is a bit low so might need a bit of adjusting (my welding skills are pretty non-existant so gave it a miss - also my needs at the moment are for a portable)

Seeland Hercules. i use at the moment will let you know how i get on with the SCOT COUNTRY portable to be tested from next week.

PD highseats. Fully galvanised and reasonably priced.

I have yet to find a better highseat, and Paul lives in Abingdon, just down the road from you. He will make his standard ones or bespoke ones to your own design. He makes them for a lot of estates and organisations you will have heard of.

I started off buying a cheap one from Sportsman GC for just less than a £100, which was a heap of rubbish. Then i bough a supposed double highseat from one of the more well known makers, needless to say it did not mean two robust stalkers in cold weather gear, I just about fitted in there with my daughter in summer. So I had a look at other designs and saw the PD ones. I have not seen another make to make me regret my puchases yet!

PM Mereside on here, he makes very sturdy steel high seats!

Another vote for Mereside. Wayne dropped off 2 freestanding doubles for me earlier this year and they are true double seats made with quality steel that will last a lifetime...

No criticism here, just an honest question, are Mereside's seats galvanised?

simon yes i do them galvanised or in zinc depending on what the customer wants to pay the ones in zinc paint have been up three years now and have no rust i also use a heavier gauge box section and solid 16mm bar for the ladder rungs and on the heavy duty seats i use a 20mm solid bar ladder rung the steel is uk stock not cheap import ,these are built to last and not much more than a cheap import seat ,atb wayne ps one in paint the other in galv they are 3mtr standard but will do any size up to 6mtr
