HIKMICRO recticles

Hi guys so I was wondering if there’s a cross hair reticle that instead of giving you a ballistics correction where you get another small x hair under or over your main one is there one that changes so that there’s just one x hair visible that’s corrected ?
But now reading this back I realise how would it revert back to the zero reticle mmmmmm

Personally I’d find that a real pain in the backside as I’d need to ‘ping’ an animal each & every time I wanted to shoot just to make sure the cross was right for the range, ie it wasn’t going to put the bullet high because it was set to 300 yards & the animal was only at 200 yards.

I set my Alpex up with normal zero at 100 yards, as & when I get in a highseat or sit up somewhere I ‘ping’ something around 200 yards & then have the ‘X’ set for that range too - ie I have an aiming mark for 100 & 200 yards.

On a related note, what does annoy me is the ‘play station’ option of reticles in different colours but nothing that’s like a normal reticle. I’m talking about something like an illuminated Zeiss #60 or Swarovski 4a with a small red dot in the centre & graduated black outer lines. Perhaps too a mil-dot reticle that enlarges with magnification as it would in FFP glass so you have known offsets if you wanted to use the reticle for hold over etc.

Anyway, rant over & got to say that the Alpex is a great tool for anyone needing to cull fallow in the real world 👍

Yeah that makes sense the way you say to have one reticle for either distance.
I’ve got my 22lr setup at zero at 37 yards then it’s no adjustment for 20 yards then is slight after that for a while , so there’s always a hold over for shooting rabbits at 100 yards etc

Never had that option in my glass scope (nor a range finder) just learnt the ground so nothing changed for me using my Hik.
Going to a new farm walk-around on Tuesday so have been on Google Maps looking at fixed features trees telegraph poles ditch lines and made a note of what is and how far to put me in the ballpark. Tram lines or wheelings are about 30+ meters apart (width of the sprayer) so I can count them.
In the early days we used to play "guess the distance" and my dear friend Jeff was rubbish at it lol

@Tim.243 good call, tramlines here on this estate are 26 metres apart due to the size of our kit. Saves a lot of buggering about with glass scope, just count and remember bullet drop on the rifle you're carrying.

:tiphat: Foxes/deer will come out of cover look left/right and many times work the headland for a while, if I can blind side them with a tree or electric pole then the 300 yds is now 150! The big bales are the best as it is like a chess board full of cover
